In 1928, style innovator Vidal Sassoon was born in London. His career was built on crafting modern hairstyles based on simple, geometric shapes that were easy to maintain and recreate. Sassoon has since been a driving force in the direction of commercial hairdressing, as well as lending his name to US health and beauty giant Procter & Gamble, for a range of hair styling products and accessories.
During the 1980s, the Vidal Sassoon name spread across the United States as well as the UK through salon franchising.
