It should come as no surprise that beauty powerhouse L’Oreal makes a formidable offering in the hair care and styling arena. The French beauty firm has it’s roots in hair care. In 1907, Eugene Schueller developed a hair colouring formula that he went on to market to hairdressers in Paris. By 1909, Schueller’s firm was well on the road to success – in 1920, there were three chemists working for the group and within 30 years, there were over a hundred. The company rapidly branched out to produce an array of colourants, as well as a fine selection of hair styling and care products.

Today, in keeping with the company’s roots in colouring excellence, the L’Oreal name appears on a collection of hair colouring kits for home use. These range from the traditional L’Oreal Excellence Crème Natural colours to the more recent Casting Crème Gloss colouring kits. And in addition to these, there are several other L’Oreal colour ranges, including L’Oreal Gems, Hicolor and Excel Crème Lights.

Other popular L’Oreal hair care and styling products include gels, mousses, and shampoos – often manufactured by L’Oreal under other names, such as popular professional brands Kerastase and Redken as well as more obvious L’Oreal divisions, like Garnier.
